A deck that benefits from having access to both red and green mana, such as a Gruul midrange or ramp deck, would find Sheltered Thicket useful due to its flexibility in providing either color. However, there are potentially better dual lands available, such as Stomping Ground, which enters untapped and can be fetched with various land-searching cards. Sheltered Thicket could see play in budget decks or in decks that specifically require cycling effects, but may not be a top choice for more competitive decks.
