A deck that focuses on controlling the board and dealing with big threats would benefit from including Repel Calamity in its strategy, particularly in a white-based control deck. While Repel Calamity is effective at dealing with creatures with power or toughness 4 or greater, there are other cards like Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares that offer more versatile removal options. However, Repel Calamity could still see play in specific metagames where there are a lot of big creatures that need to be dealt with efficiently.
