A deck that focuses on ramping up mana quickly and drawing cards would benefit from including Yavimaya Elder, such as a green-based ramp or control deck. While Yavimaya Elder offers decent value with its land fetching and card draw abilities, there are more efficient cards like Sakura-Tribe Elder or Wood Elves that provide similar effects with better mana efficiency. Yavimaya Elder could see play in more casual or budget decks, but may not be a top choice for competitive play due to its higher mana cost.

If you activate Yavimaya Elder’s last ability, its triggered ability will trigger and go on the stack. It will resolve first, meaning you’ll do the search and shuffle before drawing a card.
