The Sea Gate Wreckage card would benefit a control deck that aims to empty its hand quickly and generate additional card advantage. While it can be useful in certain situations, there are generally better options available for card draw in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks, such as Mystic Sanctuary or Castle Vantress. Sea Gate Wreckage may see play in specific budget or casual decks, but it is not a staple in most competitive formats.

It doesn’t matter how many cards are in your hand as the last ability resolves. For example, if you have no cards in hand and control two Sea Gate Wreckages, you can activate the last ability of each of them. You’ll draw a card as each ability resolves.
