Boggart Cursecrafter fits best in Rakdos (black‑red) Goblin aristocrats or sacrifice‑focused aggro decks that want value when creatures die, especially alongside token makers (like Krenko, Mob Boss or Mogg War Marshal) and free sacrifice outlets (Skirk Prospector, Goblin Bombardment) to repeatedly trigger its drain effect; it’s particularly appealing in Commander where multiple opponents amplify its damage. However, it competes with stronger payoff cards such as Mayhem Devil (which triggers on any permanent sacrifice and deals targeted damage), Judith, the Scourge Diva (team buff plus death pings), and Sling-Gang Lieutenant (which provides immediate board presence and life drain), all of which generally offer broader impact or immediate value. While Cursecrafter’s deathtouch gives it some combat utility, its one-damage-to-each-opponent trigger is relatively low impact in faster formats, making it more suited to casual or Commander Goblin builds rather than competitive Modern or Pioneer
